This super light Chasen, crafted by Kubo Sabun of the revered Takemeidō studio in Takayama, Nara—the heart of Japan’s chasen-making tradition—this unique Kogetsu muddler-type chasen reimagines the matcha whisk with a long, slender handle for elegant, versatile use.

Made from rare black bamboo, each chasen is hand-split and carved using time-honored Takayama techniques. The distinctive muddler-style form offers a contemporary silhouette while retaining excellent functionality—ideal for modern tea practice, cold matcha preparations, or stylish presentation in tea rooms or cafés.
