This finely crafted tea bowl features a rich, deep red glaze with a lustrous, glossy finish that catches and reflects light with striking depth. The glaze, smooth and vivid, accentuates the bowl’s hand-formed contours and invites both visual and tactile engagement.
Heian Waraku is rooted in the heritage of the historic Waraku Kiln. Waraku Kiln has received imperial recognition, and its works have been presented to the Japanese Imperial Household. Founded in the early 19th century near Yasaka Shrine, the kiln has become known for its deep commitment to handmade, one-of-a-kind ceramics—guided by the philosophy of “One and Only.” Every piece is shaped by hand, fired individually, and cherished as a singular work of art.
Housed in its original signed and inscribed wooden box (tomobako)—a traditional mark of authenticity and artistic origin.
